The Women’s Hormone Network Medical & Science Board brings together experienced clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing the understanding of women’s hormone health.
The Board provides scientific and clinical guidance to support WHN’s educational and research initiatives, helping ensure that our work remains grounded in evidence, clinical experience, and a commitment to improving outcomes for women.
Dr. Julie Taguchi is a hematology oncologist with a specialty in breast cancer. She understands the importance of estrogen for quality of life in women who have been treated for breast cancer and therefore, has focused her time and personal research in this area.
She is the co-author of the book "Sex, Lies and Menopause".
Dr. James S. Nagel is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician specializing in Anti-Aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine. He founded Quality of Life Medicine for Health and Wellness in Chico, California, where he focuses on Lifestyle and Preventative Medicine, partnering with his patients to prevent disease. Dr. Nagel helped develop the Physiologic Restoration protocol involving true physiological estrogen replacement to prevent and reverse chronic health problems in women.
Dr. Salome Masghati, MD, is a board-certified gynecologic surgeon who transitioned her practice to focus on preventative medicine, specializing in hormone health and overall wellness for women. With expertise in functional medicine, she integrates multiple organ systems—including the gut, cardiovascular, and brain—into her approach to women’s health. Dr. Masghati emphasizes the importance of hormone balance, particularly through Physiologic Restoration, to support women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Her holistic, science-driven approach combines her surgical background with personalized care to help women achieve lasting vitality and disease prevention.
Mai Tran, Pharm D, is a compounding pharmacist with a passion for women‘s health and education in PHRT®. She enjoys taking on challenges and ensuring that the educational support needs of WHN’s providers are fulfilled.
